    I was lucky enough to wake up early today and go to Memory Express in Edmonton and they had one. Stores received a limited amount of tablets and they were all sold out within hours, including here on Amazon. I've been playing with this thing for hours now and so far I've only had great experiences with it.

    The main feature for me is the remote desktop: you can access your PC, whether it's a Mac or a PC, if they're both connected to your home wi-fi connection. You can control your PC from anywhere and use all of its features. I watched a HD movie and worked on MS Word docs, everything went smoothly.
    The tablet doesn't weigh much for its size and the IPS screen is amazing, it's the same screen used on the iPad 2. I'm not a person who needs to buy products made by just one brand. I like Apple and I own a iPhone 4, but when it came to deciding which tablet to buy, I went for the Transformer because it offers me a tablet/netbook function, the best of both worlds... Read more

    I was one of the lucky view at the stroke of midnight on April 26th, was able to get my order in on Amazon. I just received my tablet tonight via Amazon Prime.

    I've been on Android since the original T-Mobile G1 released, and have owned an iPad since September of last year, so quite awhile on both. This is my first ownership experience of a Honeycomb 3.0 tablet.

    Software wise, there's not that much I can add in terms of what others haven't already said. It's VERY refreshing coming from iOS, to actually not be staring at pages and pages of useless icons. The notifications are ABSOLUTELY sweet (i.e. useful!). The app quick access with screenshots adds to a very desktop-esque experience, but with the navigability of a tablet UI.

    Most things run very smooth, typical of all the standard Tegra 2 devices. Speakers are surprisingly loud, and there are actually 2 of them (stereo). Screen is absolutely gorgeous (IPS).

    I purchased the Transformer with the keyboard from Amazon recently. Before I bought it, I was on the fence between this tablet, Ipad2 and the yet to be released Toshiba Android tablet. I had a hard time deciding between getting the Ipad2 and this Transformer tablet since I already have some investment with Apple/Itunes because of my iphone4. But the ability to run flash programs, built in GPS in the base unit, with microSD external storage and a larger screen with more resolution was the swaying factor. I'm neither an Apple or Google fanboy. I just want stuff to work and make my life easier or fun.

    First, the display unit is very nice and sharp. It is a bit glossy and it will reflect quite a bit and it's also a finger print magnet. It's also has a tackiness as you finger will not glide as easy as you might expect but these are minor quibbles. I don't mind the back shell of unit as well as some others have commented that it feels cheap. It feels fine to me... Read more

    A Laptop of My Own

    Working from home day after day and night after night on a borrowed laptop is no fun. Especially when it is borrowed back off you. So, therefore, I feel the time has come for a laptop of my own. Or doing I want desktop? A PC or Apple Mac? Or maybe one of those little palm-held jobs would look the part; after all, it would fit neatly in my handbag.

    After much consideration and deliberation, I go full circle and end back at the laptop. However, where do I start? What are my requirements? Well, my business is a small one, so I don't really require anything top of the range. Yet! I'll use it mainly for article writing and up-dating my website. Oh! And maybe a spot of shopping! And I will be the only one using it. Probably!

    So I have a look on the Internet to find out what other people are buying. And what manufacturers are selling. Suddenly the English language becomes muffled jargon. Do I really know what I want?

    What memory is required? My husband, a programmer, insists 2GB is what is called for. Adding to that is the essential 2.0TB of storage! Whatever all that means! I'm not so sure! I fear him may have his own reasons for these specifications...

    Dell is mentioned; so I go online for a browse. Having found one within budget that appeal and appears to tick all the boxes, I am suddenly confronted with an array of extras - all which push up the price.

    So I pull the reigns in. Perhaps I don't really need a lap top of my own. Maybe my husband's will suffice after all.
    Neither a borrower nor a lender be - well so much for Shakespeare - it seems to work for us...

    Wireless Systems and Communication
    Ever since Graham Bell and Marconi invented telephone and radio respectively, life has never been the same. Although they didn't revolutionalized things instantaneously they sure caused a ruffle thus signaling what was on the way. Today, without wireless systems communications would grind to a halt. Satellites become dud flying objects of little use if we don't "connect" through wireless for billions of gigabytes of data transfer every hour.

    Consumer Wireless Equipments
    At the bottom, we have wireless toys which are the rage with children. However the most common wireless system everyone is familiar is cell phone without which most of us can conduct our lives the way we need to. Cell phones have rapidly expanded to exit the wired phones in a matter of a few years. Even the basic phones are going wireless with the arrival of CDMA technology. The 3G cell phones can transmit up to 2MBPS of data.

    Mobile phones reached their zenith of glory when Motorola introduced satellite phones (Irridium) which didn't even require wireless network but worked with satellites directly.

    Connectivity is just notional; look at what broadband has done to wireless systems. Internet no more needs "wired connectivity" as there is wireless broadband service. IPOD has made world collapse into our pockets. What we imagined till the other year, the wireless systems made useful wireless microphones, was turned upside down by one small pocket gadget called IPOD.

    If we are able to watch news cruising at 50,000 at great speeds, you could imagine what "the void" (wireless) can do. Let's take a look at some cute gadgets from the current rage.

    1. Push to talk phones: Talk, browse internet, watch TV and connect to all your friends by one button push.

    2. Pocket PC and wireless LAN for laptops: Pocket PCs double up as cell phones. Laptops connect to LAN with a wireless LAN card.
