I found this monster 5GB 4GBmemory ? 17 inch LED ? ... for this price ??? wow ..yea I jumped on it... hoping its not a lemon. I got it in the mail ... the wife popped it open and was extatic. I saw it and went bug eyes F...N S..t it huge !! Open its Clam face and wow all this screen ... 10 key layout .. very sleek. The face was a Charcol Grey shiney n nyce. I did the basic setup no prob .. internet is always a hastle for me but once I got it up... stream city ... youtube loads slow but thats youtube ... everything else ran smoothly ... the Necessary Updates got stuck the first time I shut it down N I panicked thinking "here we go" .. but unplugged it and started it over and boom all updated in no time. I think Ill keep an eye on this and buy another one for myself. Ive had it for 4 days and its new ... lets hope this review doesnt change .... DONT SLEEP ... The display is bright, the keyboard has a good feel and the large off-center touchpad makes a lot of sense for anyone that operates a mouse with their right hand. The mouse buttons below the touchpad are a bit stiff, but for light usage don't seem overly difficult. Performance is about what I expected from a budget laptop model with Windows 7 being ready for use in just under 20 seconds (prior to loading any of your own programs). The computer is very easy to setup out of the box with smart and simple setup menus to guide you through initial startup of the system, and fortunately HP has left a lot of 3rd party trial software off the system - saving you time from having to remove software that just slows your system down from the start. Definitely a bang for one's buck. As I write this, early March 2012, I got this machine for roughly $400 here on Amazon. This was a pretty great price, especially considering I found the exact same model on several other sites well exceeding the $600-$700 range. A really solid laptop perfect for everyday use, and beyond. The 15.6" screen is extremely bright, and has excellent resolution. As someone who watches a lot of media (videos, movies, tv shows, etc) on my laptop, the screen is great. The Intel i3 Core, 4 GB of RAM, and mid-level Intel graphics card all make for a snappy machine that is also acceptable for light, online gaming. A sizable hard drive, over 600 GB, won't be filled easily. Add a wireless card, built in webcam, and Bluetooth, a feature which has become more prominent in the last year or two, and all your bases are covered.
